friends and label Badu “The Queen of Neo Soul.” In 1998, “On and On” earned the producer 2 Grammy Awards and went on to claim triple platinum status. In the song,
Badu would spit the line, “Mad props to the god Jah Born,” which gained the Dallas-based producer household familiarity around the world.
The success of the single was only the beginning for the young Super Producer. Jah Born
would go on to produce multiple tracks with Badu including “And On” (Mama’s Gun), “Your Loving Me”, “Jump up in the Air & Stay There” (Erykah Badu / Lil’ Wayne) and RC & The Gritz featuring Erykah Badu “Leave Me Alone”.

Originally hailing from Wichita, KS, and now based in Dallas, TX, I am an 11-year Navy veteran who found my true calling behind the turntables. Inspired by my grandfather, CJ THE DJ, I carry on his legacy as OJ THE DJ, blending tradition with innovation.
A proud graduate and alumni of Keep Spinning DJ Academy, I’ve honed a distinctive style and deep passion for music that has not only earned me significant social media recognition but also provided opportunities to collaborate with and remix music for hip-hop and R&B artists. Now, as an instructor at Keep Spinning DJ Academy, I’m excited to inspire the next generation of DJs to find their voice and rhythm in the world of music.
